Thank you. :) That interaction in CJH was the sort of tone I was trying for here - these two seem to have a fairly comfortable and calm dynamic by the standards of the team and it's nice to play with that sort of relationship every once in a while.

Welsh for "spike" appears to be "pig"; "prickle"/"spine" is "pigyn". "Hedgehog" is "draenog". Of course, knowing Jack, he'll probably just call it Dolores or something. ;) I guess I'll have to pick one if I ever mention the thing in another fic!
