This is wonderful. I love Jack's creepiness, love the way he's tied into history, and especially the way he only sort of half-remembers what happens (it was three thousand years ago for him, after all). And it sort of fits one of my favourite sub-genres, the outsiders-view-of-our-hero.

Plus the OCs are marvelous. Very well done.
