Title: Dead Game
Fandom: Torchwood (pre-screening speculation)
Characters: Jack Harkness
Rating: PG
Notes: Torchwood drabble behind the cut, spoilerish only if you're still unaware of the Institute's resident pet....
Congealing crimson dripped sluggishly from the monitor screen, pooling beside the bloodied keyboard that lay amidst the smeared, crumpled paperwork and mingling with dark dregs from an upended mug. There had been violence here, savage and sudden, the grisly evidence carrying scents of shit and death....
Jack looked at the bloody mess despairingly. Again. How many more times... and why always his desk?
Glaring at the furry form that sat atop his filing cabinet, smugly preening one long wing, Jack brushed a sorry pile of grey feathers into the wastepaper basket. "Ianto!" he yelled. "We've had another pigeon get in!"
