Notes: Drabble written for the tw100 "The Last Thing I Remember" challenge, which does rather beg for a Retcon theme!


DCI Swanson had had better days.

She'd been so incensed at having her crime scene invaded by those smug bastards again that she'd insisted on staying with them... cue three hours of oddly gelatinous mud and much excited babbling over a brass pineapple-thing, after which they'd packed up and buggered off, leaving her dripping in the dirt with any remaining evidence trampled to shit.

But she had learned who and what they were....

He was waiting for her outside the station, all blue eyes and predator's smile. "Kathy! Fancy a drink?"

"After the day I've had?" She laughed. "You're buying...."

Ouch. I feel really sorry for Swanson (whom I'd love to see in the show again).

I actually can imagine Jack doing the same thing to everyone who was listening to the speaker phone, in "They Keep Killing Suzie"... damn, that'd be a busy night/few nights for Jack.

Of course Jack'd want to spend time with Swanson: she's strong, smart, & gorgeous; he should be so lucky...
